     Abstract— The purpose of this paper is to analyze trends in the global gambling industry and the characteristics of countries using big data tool of network analysis and semantic analysis with gambling related 9,128 studies from 1960 to 2016 in the world. There are two insights based on the results of the analysis of gambling related studies. First, the study on technology has been increased within the last two decades. Internet betting has become a popular mode of accessing gambling market. Second, there are three types of study patterns such as prohibition, alibi and risk as a gambling model with the perspective of public policy and regulation. First study was based on pattern with the perspective which regards gambling  focusing on addiction and treatment in gambling area. Second study was based on pattern with the perspective which regards gambling as public policy focusing on health and decision in wagering on betting such as sports betting and horse racing. Third study was based on pattern with the perspective which regards gambling as entertainment focusing technology and internet in lottery, casino and internet game. Using the analysis of previous studies, we would like to recommend that state need to design public policy on gambling industry after understanding public's awareness and social environment including technology.
